We are a collection of private property owners, businesses and guests along Resort Drive, who are concerned about the stripping of property rights and negative economic impact of Bill 35 on the purpose-built tourism community of Resort Drive, Parksville, BC.
We are pleased to announce that a recent update from the government of BC details new exemptions that protect properties along Resort Drive from the principal residence requirement. Please read the official information page here.

Along our journey, many in our group have shared their deep concern about the general disregard for property rights that Bill 35 has imposed upon private citizens of BC. Resort Drive represents only a small percentage of affected property owners, and Bill 35 has the potential to set a precedent for all of Canada. If you fall into this category of concern, we encourage you to follow along with the efforts of Property Rights BC, and their new consumer-facing association, the BC Short Term Rental Association. These groups are doing important work to spread awareness about the value of the Short Term Rental industry, and have launched a legal challenge against the Government of BC in an attempt to address these concerns.
